Sidetracked

Getting in the head of most brides to be, I need to shape up. I think I need the endorphins more than the resulting body of a workout. I miss the days when I can just be happy without question of integrity; when I was confident with myself; when no one impolitely asks me when I'm sure to give birth; when I had more energy; when I was generally happier.

I'm doing this for the people who love me because they are the one who endure my grumpy disposition day in and day out. Committing to this lifestyle change is my testament of love to K1, K2 & the Dadee.

I just joined Fitocracy today. I'm also K1nK2sMamee there. still figuring out how it works haven't logged the planks I did today. I will pledge my allegiance to the fito cheering thread on LSG soon as I sort my account.

Can't wait to get on track.

Go big or go home.

I've wanted a knit veil ever since I learned to knit lace, even more so when I saw the many different shawls on ravelry converted into/used as veils. In 2010, a kind raveler (magickbeanbuyer) RAKed me 2skeins of madelinetosh lace in flour sack; in 2011, 3 other hoars Hehena, V, and Kae, sent me a book on Victorian lace knitting and in there the cap shawl pattern resides. I have put off making these for so long until that thread about people not having enough time to knit everything on their wedding knitlist.

On April 18, as soon as my last project was off the needles, I cast on My Wedding Veil.

The thing with circular knitting is you start from so few a stitches that you get past the first rows really fast. I just hit 100th row after more than a week of relaxed knitting.

Honestly, I can feel myself slowing down, but I think I'm still excited enough about finishing that I hope the next 72 rows will be a breeze. There is still a knit on edging that may take forever. And I have yet to decide if I will stick to the suggested edging or maybe do something else. As the saying goes: I'll cross the bridge when I get there.

Another beginning

About two years ago, I started a blog about being suddenly single, I only had two entries in that acct., I couldn't manage posting plus taking care of my two kids. in a recent turn of events however, I have gotten back with the Dadee and although our life together isn't smooth sailing, we manage and we make things work.

I am not about to start a getting-back-together blog. NO.

This space here is going to be about the wedding of my dreams. No, we aren't getting hitched, at least not in the foreseeable future.

A thread in ravelry spurred this idea of starting on my Wedding Must Knit list and blogging about it is just so I can keep track of my progress. Of course, my craftiness isn't exclusive to knitting and, with or without budget, I intend to handcraft most of the details. So don't be surprised if I have entries about wire crafts, embroidery, gift wrapping, crochet, sewing, basket making, etc. (I may or may not get into pottery making, who knows?)

To give you an idea here's my initial Wedding Must Knit List:
1. Veil
2. Boquet
3. Boutonnieres
4. Bowties
5. Fichu for the female entourage
6. Shawls for the two moms and female sponsors

Looking at that list, I hope you now understand why I must start now even without certainty of ever walking down the isle... XxxooxxxX
